IS THE AIR FORCE WORKING ON THE PHYSICS OF TIME TRAVEL?

The Air Force Research Lab's August "Teleportation Physics Report," posted earlier this week on the Federation of American Scientists (FAS) Web site, struck a raw nerve with physicists and critics of wasteful military spending.

In the report, author Eric Davis says psychic teleportation, moving yourself from location to location through mind powers, is "quite real and can be controlled." The 88-page report also reviews a range of teleportation concepts and experiments:

• Quantum teleportation, a technique demonstrated in the last decade that shifts the characteristics, but not the location, of sub-atomic particles at great distances.

• Wormholes, a highly theoretical possibility whereby the intense gravitational field near black holes could rip open entrances to distant locales.

Explaining why the lab sponsored the study, AFRL spokesman Ranney Adams said, "If we don't turn over stones, we don't know if we have missed something."

HAS THE ATOMIC CLOCK JOHN DESCRIBED FOR TIME TRAVEL BEEN INVENTED?

"JOHN - NOV. 7, 2000: The C204 unit uses 4 cesium clocks. The C206 uses 6 cesium clocks but they use an optical system to check the oscillation frequency. This makes the worldline divergence confidence much higher.

JOHN - NOV. 7, 2000: The C204 uses the second as the basic unit of measure. The C206 may be capable of .05 sec."

Clock tells time at such speed that reading it becomes challenge

DENVER, CO - The newest atomic clock is so accurate that its creators theorize that it will neither lose nor gain a second in 4.5 billion years. And, they note that their clock is so promising, it's being tested for use in navigating Global Positioning System satellites and to time minute biological processes, such as protein folding. But how do you read the time on such a fast clock?

The scientists who designed the new "all-optical-atomic clock" will describe their efforts to count faster and faster things, as the division between "pulses" becomes smaller and smaller.

Using a femtosecond laser to measure time intervals too tiny to be measured in nanoseconds, Scott A. Diddams, a researcher with the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder, CO, and his colleagues were able to keep time with greater precision than can be done with existing atomic clocks, by five orders of magnitude. At the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Annual Meeting, the researchers will discuss improvements in the femtosecond laser technology, and their efforts to make counters for the new optical clocks.

The World's Smallest Atomic Clock

The world's smallest atomic clock, about the size of a rice grain, is built around a microcell about 1 mm3 in volume filled with cesium atoms. It draws only about 30 mA of current from a 2.5 V battery. Atomic clocks are the best timekeepers because they are able to convert the high-precision information contained in the light emitted by alkali atoms (the light emerging from an atomic transition from one energy level to another can be measured to an uncertainty of better than a part in a billion) into a usable standard for defining the second.

http://www.aip.org/pnu/ 2004/split/698-1.html

Atomic clock gets mini-makeover

Atomic clocks can be several meters tall, expensive to build and power-hungry, making them extremely impractical for commercial use. As well as being tiny by comparison, the new model is based on the same cost-efficient manufacturing techniques used to build microchips.

NIST scientists also expect to substantially improve the clock's long-term stability and reduce its power consumption.

"The real power of our technique is that we're able to run the clock on so little electrical power that it could be battery operated and that it's small enough to be easily incorporated into a cell phone or some other kind of handheld device," said NIST physicist John Kitching.

"And nothing else like it even comes close as far as being mass producible."

Atomic clocks work by measuring the frequency of cesium atoms, which vibrate almost 9.2 billion times a second. An infrared laser pulsed through them is converted into an electrical signal by a photo cell.

Miniscule atomic clock demonstrated in US

In wireless communication devices, these clocks could improve network synchronisation and channel selection to enhance security and anti-jamming capabilities. In global positioning system receivers, small clocks could improve the precision of satellite-based navigation systems such as those used in commercial and military vehicles and emergency response networks.

JOHN'S CERN PREDICTION FINDS A SUPPORTER

HOST: Below is some mail with very interesting news about CERN. Thanks for the link!

Understanding Freemasonry

Hi,

First of all thanks for the great website. I listen to Coast To Coast AM frequently and that's how I first discovered your website and the John Titor story.

On Coast To Coast AM, on the 13/10/04 show (Christopher Knight, Understanding Freemasonry), the subject briefly changed to time travel as a means of explaining how ancient technically advanced civilisations came about. Christopher announces that in two years time CERN will be conducting an experiment demonstrating the possibility of travelling backwards in time!

Knowing the John Titor story, the hairs on the back of my neck stood right up!

Here's a direct link to the show

http://www.coasttocoast am.com/shows/ 2004/10/13.html

Hope you can find some more info on this announcement, because it seems to fit the Titor story very well indeed.

IS IT FINALLY HERE, IS THIS THE TECHNOLOGY CORNERSTONE FOR JOHN'S TIME MACHINE?

JOHN - DEC 30, 2000: "The major physics break through for controlled gravity distortion does happen at CERN in your future. Heck, we haven't even touched on 'Z' field compression yet."

JOHN - MAR 13, 2001: "The 'machine' with the energy to do it will come on-line very soon. The 'method' for doing it has already been 'mostly' perfected in the Z machine at the National lab in New Mexico. "

Twenty Million Amps of Current

Twenty million amps of current, released from a bank of capacitors over 100 nsec and sent into a cage of wires, is converted at Sandia’s Z facility into 1.8 mega-joules of soft-x-ray energy, with a peak power of 200 tera-watts. Thus the Z machine is the highest peak-current pulsed-power device in the world (over nanosecond timescales), and the most potent source of soft x rays (radiation in the 100-10,000 eV range). The total x-ray energy conversion fraction---utility power turned into x rays---is 10-15%, much higher than for any other x-ray source.

An atom-smasher on your desk?
Laser pulses could shrink particle accelerators to just metres across.

The image of particle-physics machines tends to be of huge beasts snaking through kilometres of countryside and costing billions of dollars. But that is about to change. Cheap table-top particle accelerators could bring high-energy physics into normal laboratories, now that several teams have cleared the major hurdle to shrinking these machines to a manageable size. The new devices use laser pulses to drag electrons into tightly focused bursts, rather than relying on the varying electric fields that squeeze particles along lengthy tunnels in atom-smashing facilities such as that at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. With lasers, the same acceleration can now be achieved over much shorter distances.

It'll take a bit longer to replace the most powerful machines, such as the Large Hadron Collider currently being built at CERN. This uses a 27-kilometre-long tunnel and will have cost $2.5 billion by the time it opens in July 2007. But within 20 years or so, Mangles believes lasers could achieve the equivalent power with an accelerator just metres across.

JOHN'S PHYSICS CLUE

HOST: John made a specific reference to the "Princeton String Quartet". Is this what he was talking about?

Physicists to Mark 20th Anniversary of First String Theory Revolution

Soon after Green and Schwarz's discovery, Harvey, in collaboration with Emil Martinec, Professor in Physics at the University of Chicago, and two other colleagues published a paper proposing heterotic string theory, a hybrid that combined two versions of string theory into one. The four scientists were then all working at Princeton University. They were jokingly called the Princeton String Quartet.

WILL THE RUSSIANS BEAT US INTO TIME TRAVEL TOO!?!

Traveling in Time Becomes Possible
Black holes can take people to new dimensions

Moscow State University professor Dmitry Goltsov has recently announced about the sensational possibility to travel in time. Cosmologists discovered a new dimension that prejudiced Einstein's theory of relativity. The three-dimensional model is not actual anymore. Cosmologists believe, one may travel in time through black holes with the help of a time machine. The machine will be moving from one black hole to another, which will allow it to travel either to the relative future or the relative past. It will be easy to return to our times too. Yet, it is not known, to which extent the theory is correct - the time machine has not been invented yet.

IS JOHN'S TIME MACHINE TECHNOLOGY CLOSER THAN WE THINK?

Artificial black holes: on the threshold of new physics

Amazingly, scientists are becoming increasingly confident that they will be able to create black holes on demand, in quantity, using the new atom-smashers due to come online in the next five years. Some estimates suggest that the new Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN -the acronym is in French) will be able to create an average of one black hole each second. LHC will bombard protons and antiprotons together with such a force that the collision will create temperatures and energy densities not seen since the first trillionth of a second after the Big Bang. This should be enough to pop off numerous tiny black holes, with masses of just a few hundred protons.

!!! JOHN TITOR NEWS ALERT !!!

SO . . . JOHN'S TIME MACHINE DOES WORK AFTER ALL?

Spaceship Travel to Another Universe Through a Black Hole

Spaceship travel to another universe through a black hole may be highly improbable, but it cannot be ruled out, according to a new analysis that explores the idea of "hybrid singularity."

The kinder, gentler singularity should only develop when a regular stream of matter or energy falls into the hole.

If the non-compact sources are weak, Burko shows, a hybrid singularity forms: a strong sector (inevitably destructive) and a weak sector (finite tidal distortions). Conceivably, a spaceship entering through the weak sector could travel unscathed to another part of space-time.

HOST: It's been a long while since we've posted anything on the John Titor site. I apologize. The mailbox has been swamped and attacked so many times it's all we can do to sort through the real mail. We plan to jump into it again and update the site but this latest news couldn't wait.

!!! JOHN TITOR NEWS ALERT !!!

JOHN TITOR SAID STEVEN HAWKING WAS WRONG ABOUT BLACK HOLES - NOW HAWKING AGREES!!!

When John Titor visited our worldline in 2000 - 2001, he gave certain physical details about the physics and engineering behind his time machine. He stated the machine operated through the use of two mini black holes that produced a gravity field that allowed passage from one worldline to another. In march of 2001, John got into a discussion about his machine with his arch nemesis, Darby. For those unfamiliar with Darby, he is currently the moderator at the Time Travel forum at http://www.anomalies.net.

For the last four years, Darby has been hell-bent on driving people away from the idea of time travel and John Titor specifically. In their last few conversations before John left, Darby and John went back and forth on many subjects where Darby took great pride in trying to out-maneuver John over his physics statements. As time went on, John has proven to be correct on many of the bizarre statements he had made. It appears he was right about another.

Darby attacked John on a routine basis (and still does) based on Steven Hawking's theories on black holes. When John was here, Steven Hawking believed that mini-black holes were impossible to contain because they would evaporate and disappear in something called "Hawking Radiation." Here is a short question and answer between Darby and John:

"MARCH 14, 2001

DARBY: It's Hawking Radiation you can't overcome.

JOHN: Yes, that is true. If you firmly believe that Hawking radiation cannot be controlled or goes on even without the presence of virtual particles forever until the singularity explodes than you are correct. "

As it turns out, Hawking has now re-thought his views on this subject and he now agrees with John.

NEW LINK TO HAWKING REVELATION

HOST: From a reader in Denmark, Sharome adds this link to the story:

http://edition.cnn. com/ 2004/TECH/ science/07/15 /hawking. holes.reut /index. html

ANOTHER JOHN DISCUSSION OF OLD HAWKING THEORY

HOST: Another reader pointed out other comments on the subject from 3/14/01:

"JOHN: The singularities are not unstable; therefore, uncontrolled evaporation is not possible. In addition, there is no extemporaneous matter near the singularity that would cause it to give off radiation or heat.

DARBY: The faulty part of your description for your device involves Hawking Radiation. Its not the size of the singularity that matters, its the mass involved that determines the temperature of the radiation.

JOHN: You seem to be quite upset and I understand your argument. I do however think it is important to gather the facts and probabilities before expelling emotional energy on them. Please keep in mind that I have not shared all the technical details of the machine with you. So an easy out would be for me to just make something up.

However, and as I'm sure you are aware, Stephen Hawking admits that his own equations support the "possibility" that microsingularities may not totally disappear as they evaporate in a sea of virtual particles and in fact may leave behind a very stable naked singularity. I'm sure you can look that up. I suppose the difficult part is believing that we've taken advantage of it, not that it's impossible. "

SCIENCE NEWS

HOST: When John spoke of parallel universes as a reality, no one in the scientific community took it seriously. Are they starting to come around to another idea of how everything is put together?

Parallel Universes

Not just a staple of science fiction, other universes are a direct implication of cosmological observations .

http://www.uboeschen stein.ch/boe/themes/ multiversum.html

Is there a copy of you reading this article? A person who is not you but who lives on a planet called Earth, with misty mountains, fertile fields and sprawling cities, in a solar system with eight other planets? The life of this person has been identical to yours in every respect. But perhaps he or she now decides to put down this article without finishing it, while you read on. The idea of such an alter ego seems strange and implausible, but it looks as if we will just have to live with it, because it is supported by
astronomical observations.

IS SCIENCE STARTING TO TAKE JOHN TITOR'S DESCRIPTION OF TIME TRAVEL SERIOUSLY?

So here's the question: How come you're still here to go back in time and pester the old man? The simplest answer, explains Professor Ronald Mallett, is that you can't go somewhere else in time and make changes that will affect your present. The dynamics predicted by quantum theory won't let you.

COULD THIS BE THE DISCOVERY JOHN SPOKE OF?????

HOST: The following was posted on a forum site.

This is way above my head but the site is interesting.

http://physicsforums. com/showthread.php ?s= &threadid=5396
(from the forum)

Could THIS be the discovery John Titon spoke of? It's still too early to tell...

August 13, 2003
High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK)

The High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) announced that the
Belle collaboration, an international research team working at the KEKB accelerator, found evidence for a new phenomenon that cannot be explained by the Standard Model of elementary particles.

The KEKB accelerator is a device for generating a large number of very shortlived subatomic particles called B mesons as well as their anti-matter counterparts. These particles, each with a mass somewhat greater than that of the helium atom, disintegrate after about a few trillionths of a second into lighter and more long-lived daughters, and these decay products are detected by the Belle detector.

http://www.kek.jp/ press/2003/belle3e.html

Also here's a post by jon titor on 3/14/01:

The faulty part of your description for your device involves Hawking Radiation. Its not the size of the singularity that matters, its the mass involved that determines the temperature of the radiation.

You seem to be quite upset and I understand your argument. I do however

I suppose the difficult part is believing that we've taken advantage of it,
not that it's impossible.

So it is possible that the naked singularity he's referring to COULD(and I stress could) be the same thing that was recently discovered in my above CERN link. Something to consider....

Under the category of JOHN'S PREDICTIONS I posted December 2000.

I found this online a few days ago. The article was posted in May of 2003 and suggests CERN has plans to produce mini-black holes, just as John had predicted.

http://www.csmonitor. com/2003/0523/ p25s02-stss.html

Also I found this article online and a quote from it follows the link. Compare it to a few of John's statments on nuclear weapons.

http://www.newscient ist.com/news/news.jsp ?id= ns99994049

"The effect of a nuclear-isomer explosion would be to release high-energy gamma rays capable of killing any living thing in the immediate area. It would cause little fallout compared to a fission explosion, but any undetonated isomer would be dispersed as small radioactive particles, making it a somewhat "dirty" bomb. This material could cause long-term health problems for anybody who breathed it in."

JOHN: Nuclear war is a very undesirable thing but it is not the end of the world. There are areas and cities we can't enter and the environment did suffer a great deal of damage but we are recovering.

JOHN: That's exactly what "they" want you to think while they continue to develop smaller and more accurate MIRV's. Have you ever seen a neutron bomb the size of a basketball?
